Michel Terpins the Brazilian Rally Driver Making an Impact on the Tracks

When it comes to rally sports, Terpins is a name you will not fail to hear mentioned quite often due to the prowess in the sport. Michel Terpins takes after his brother Rodrigo Terpins who is a famed rally driver. The two brothers come from a sporting family with their father a retired sports president and renowned Brazilian basketball player of the 1970s.

Michel Terpins, 40 years and his navigator Maykel Justo aged 37 were part of the 25th Sertões Rally edition. Despite the duo failing to complete the competition due to mechanical issues with their vehicle, the two sportsmen put up a good fight emerging 4th position in their Prototypes T1 category and 10th place overall. This is not all; Michel Terpins and Maykel Justo were named among the five fastest competitors of the overall event.

The 25th Sertões Rally edition was one of the hardest competition in the history of the Sertões Rally. In addition to the poor terrains, the weather was quite challenging and the drivers were supposed to cover a long distance through three States; Mato Grosso, Goiás and Mato Grosso do Sul. Before being forced to slow down at the third stage of the competition due to damaged rare suspension and a broken gearbox, the duo of Michel Terpins were at the lead having won the first two stages. Though disappointed by the turn out of events, Michel Terpins noted that it was their turnout that mattered. He promised to come back stronger on the fourth day of the competition.
